[Ray grins at Egon fondly listening to him babble about Shuckle. If he weren't here for something specific he would just sit down next to him and watch him talk about fungi all day.
But, this is important! Ray gently kisses Egon on the top of his head before placing a wrapped box on the table.]
I'd love cake, but I wanted to give you this first!
[He grins down at him expectantly, hoping Egon will enjoy the gift.]
[As Ray places the box down, Egon blinks. He snatches up the box, turning it carefully in his hands and nodding.]
Ah--a gift. Thank you, Ray.
[He sounds appreciative, I swear. It's just his monotone voice. He begins to unwrap it meticulously on the taped edges, as if he means to preserve the wrapping paper. The Shuckle pokes his head into the unwrapped paper, carefully exploring the nooks and crannies.
[It's a box full of worm plushes! Wurmples, Caterpies, Weedles, all the babies are here!
Ray sheepishly looks away.]
I hope you like them! I don't know if your Ray ever did this for you, but I always loved giving my Egon toys for his birthday, to make up for what he missed out during childhood.
